SHANE F. WEIR
Mr. Weir qualified as a solicitor, barrister and notary public in Canada in 1978. He established the firm in March 1985. He was admitted as a Solicitor in England and Wales and in Hong Kong in 1992. He has lectured in both Canada and Hong Kong at university level. He currently practises in commercial, property and banking law with an emphasis on securities.
Mr. Weir is an active member of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Hong Kong Industries, The Canadian Chamber of Commerce, The Law Society of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Computer Society. He is also Hong Kong's national president of the World Jurist Association and in addition to acting as legal adviser for numerous corporations and associations in Hong Kong and abroad, he also sits in the Executive Committee of the Management and Technology Committee of The Law Society of Hong Kong, the IT Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and the IT Committee of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. Recently he served as an appointee of the Law Society to the Provisional Board to consider the future of Hong Kong domain names registration (“.hk”).
Ms. Dong is a qualified Hong Kong solicitor. She was born and raised in Canada. She obtained her Bachelors degree in Criminology and Psychology from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, B.C., followed by her Juris Doctor degree and P.C.LL from the City University of Hong Kong. Ms. Dong currently practices in areas of corporate/commercial, immigration, civil litigation, trust and estate planning. She speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin and has basic knowledge of French.
